Hungerford Christmas Fair at Hungerford
Friday 1st and Saturday 2nd November 10am to 4pm
There will be approximately 30 stalls, many of them new to the fair this year, selling a wide variety of Christmas gifts to suit everyone. There will also be a café selling delicious soup, sandwiches and cakes. All the proceeds from the gate and raffle will be going to the Bruce Trust, which provides canal boat holidays for disabled, disadvantaged and elderly people along the Kennet and Avon Canal. In addition, a percentage of all sales will go to AMREF, the charity supported by Kathini Graham who started and ran the fair for over 25 years.
Spectacular Fireworks Display at The Racecourse Newbury
Saturday 2nd November
Gates open 5.30pm and fireworks start a 7.30pm
A professional firework extravaganza with a spectacular pyrotechnic display set to music. Heart FM’s drivetime presenter Luke Smith will be compering the whole event. Throughout the night there will be three live performances from the ‘The Ian and Mel Sound’, ‘Military Wives Choir – Aldershot’ and finishing with ‘State 51’.
Advance tickets – £4 for adults, £3.50 for 5 to 16 year olds and just £12 for a family (2 adults and 2 children).
Entry on the night is just £5 per person with under 5s free.

An Audience with Esther Rantzen CBE at The Watermill Theatre

Esther’s career began with BBC Radio as a sound effects assistant. From there she moved into television as a researcher/reporter and in 1973 became a producer/ presenter of That’s Life!, which was on air for 21 years. In 1991, Esther received an OBE for her services to broadcasting. In 2006, she was raised to the order of CBE for her services to children through her work in various charitable causes. She has recently launched The Silver Line, a helpline for older people, designed to combat loneliness.
