  • Ladies Lunch

    The Imperial Easter Eggs of Carl Fabergé

    12pm to 3pm

    We welcome Toby Faber who has written two works of narrative history on Stradivarius and Fabergé’s Eggs, and has also given many lectures on these two subjects. Between 1885 and 1916, Carl Fabergé made fifty jewelled eggs – Easter presents from Russia’s last two emperors to their wives, which have become the most famous surviving symbols of the Romanov Empire. Toby will talk about and explore the connection between the three rules Fabergé had to conform to when designing the eggs, and how the eggs also reflected Fabergé’s own perspective on the lives of the Tsarinas who were to receive them.

    Friday 20th March - 7pm onwards

    Join Daniel and seven of his favourite food suppliers for unforgettable seven course dining experience. Each supplier will provide a special ingredient for one of the courses, introduce the dish that incorporates their ingredient and choose their favourite wine to match. You’ll have the opportunity to ask questions and really get to know why Daniel is so passionate about working with such a great team of suppliers. Also take away a copy of Daniel’s most recent book, Revolutionary French Cooking.
