When does The NEW Vineyard reopen?

We reopen chapter one in Winter 2026 (more information on exact opening dates to follow), marking the beginning of an exciting new beginning for The Vineyard. Reservations for stays, dining and events are open now. Chapter two will open in Spring 2027 (The Spa and additional bedrooms)

What has changed?

The Vineyard has undergone an extensive multi-million-pound transformation — a thoughtful reimagining of our spaces, interiors and guest experience. You'll find beautifully refurbished bedrooms and suites, redesigned restaurants and bar, a new Wine Shop and Tasting Room, and our brand new Chocolate Kitchen. The spirit of The Vineyard — exceptional hospitality, outstanding food and one of England's most celebrated wine collections — remains very much at the heart of everything we do.

Is this a phased reopening? 

Yes. Our first chapter opens in Winter 2026, introducing our reimagined dining, bar, most of our bedrooms and our event spaces. Our second chapter follows in Spring 2027, bringing additional bedrooms and suites and our brand new boutique Spa.

Will my previous preferences and records be on file?

If you have stayed with us before, our team will endeavour to ensure your preferences are noted and your return feels every bit as personal as your previous visits. Please don't hesitate to reach out ahead of your stay and we'll make sure everything is just right.

Has the wine cellar been affected by the refurbishment?

Not at all. Our celebrated wine collection — one of England's finest — has been carefully preserved and remains as extraordinary as ever. The new Wine and Chocolate Shop also means you can now explore it in a whole new way and take your favourite bottle home with you.

Can I book now?

Yes — and we'd encourage you to. First availability across stays, dining and events is limited, and we anticipate strong demand for the opening weeks. Reservations are open now via our website or by contacting the team directly.

Are you taking bookings for Christmas and New Year?

Yes. The Vineyard will be open for the festive season from mid-December 2026. Our popular Christmas and New Year House Parties are available to book, so we'd recommend reserving early to avoid disappointment. Contact our team for details on festive packages and availability.

Will there be any disruption during the phased reopening?

We have planned our reopening carefully to ensure every guest receives the full Vineyard experience from day one and we will endeavour to keep any work to an absolute minimum to not impact the guest experience. If any element of the hotel is unavailable during your stay, our team will always let you know in advance and ensure you are looked after accordingly.

Your Stay

What time is check-in and check-out?

Check-in is from 3.00pm. Check-out is by 11.00am. Early check-in and late check-out may be available on request and is subject to availability — please contact the hotel in advance and we will do our best to accommodate you.

Is car parking available?

Yes, complimentary on-site parking is available for all hotel, dining and spa guests. No advance booking is required.

Do you have accessible rooms?

Yes. Please contact our reservations team directly when booking and we will ensure the most suitable accommodation is arranged for your needs.

Is Wi-Fi available?

Complimentary high-speed Wi-Fi is available throughout the hotel, including all bedrooms and suites.

Do you have a gym?

A fully equipped 24-hour gym is available to hotel guests, opening as part of our Second Chapter in Spring 2027.

Eating & Drinking

Do I need to book a table?

Reservations are recommended for both the Brasserie and the Gastronomic Restaurant, particularly at weekends. Hotel guests receive priority booking — we recommend reserving your table at the time of booking your stay.

What time is Afternoon Tea served?

Afternoon Tea is served in the Brasserie. From 1-3pm Monday to Saturday. 24 hour advance notice is required and booking is recommended. 

Can dietary requirements be accommodated?

Absolutely. Our kitchen team is experienced in catering for all dietary requirements and allergies. Please let us know your needs at the time of booking or no later than 48 hours before your visit so we can prepare accordingly.

Is there a dress code?

We ask guests to dress smartly, particularly in the Gastronomic Restaurant in the evenings. We want everyone to feel comfortable, so smart casual is perfectly appropriate — we simply ask that sportswear is avoided in the dining areas. 

Dogs & Pets

Are dogs welcome at The Vineyard?

We welcome well-behaved dogs in a number of our rooms on the ground floor. Please let us know at the time of booking that you will be bringing a dog so we can make the right arrangements. A dog supplement of £30 per night applies. Dogs are not permitted in our restaurants or spa.

Is there somewhere to walk dogs nearby?

The Vineyard is set in the beautiful Berkshire countryside, with excellent walking on the doorstep. Our team will be happy to recommend local routes on arrival.

Spa

When does the Spa open?

The Spa at The Vineyard opens as part of our Second Chapter in Spring 2027. Register your interest now to be among the first to book.

Is the Spa open to non-residents?

Spa and dining half-day and full-day packages for non-residents will be available. Please contact us for further information or to register your interest ahead of opening.

What facilities does the Spa include?

The Spa features six treatment rooms, a vitality indoor heated swimming pool, sauna, steam room, an outdoor spa garden with hot tub, a manicure and pedicure station, and a 24-hour gym.

What should I bring to the Spa?

Towels, robes and slippers are provided. We recommend arriving at least 15 minutes before your treatment to allow time to change and enjoy the facilities beforehand.

Events & Celebrations

Can I host a private event at The Vineyard?

Yes. We have four dedicated event spaces accommodating between 8 and 50 guests, including the brand-new Foley Suite with its private terrace and state-of-the-art AV. Our events team will work with you to create a bespoke experience. Please enquire directly for availability and pricing.

Do you cater for weddings?

Micro-weddings and Exclusive Use wedding packages are available. Please contact our events team directly to discuss your requirements and we will be delighted to talk through what The Vineyard can offer.

Can I arrange a private wine tasting or chocolate masterclass for a group?

Yes. Both sommelier-led wine tastings and chocolate-making masterclasses can be arranged for private groups. Contact our events team to discuss availability and bespoke packages.

Can I amend my booking?

Yes, subject to availability. Please contact our reservations team as early as possible and we will do our best to help.

Do you offer gift vouchers? 

Yes. Gift vouchers are available for stays, dining, spa treatments and experiences.

Where is The Vineyard?

How far are you from London?

The Vineyard is approximately 45 minutes from central London by car, and easily accessible from the M4. The nearest train station is Newbury, approximately 10 minutes away, with regular services from London Paddington.

Is there a taxi or transfer service from the station?

We can arrange a taxi or private transfer from Newbury station. Please contact the hotel in advance to organise this.
